Naloxone in Public Places
A number of public places such as libraries, airports, government buildings are all starting to store Naloxone (Narcan®) and train in the administration of Naloxone (Narcan®). The need is ever growing as public spaces can often be the site of a opioid overdose. All across the country, law enforcement and public safety have been carrying Naloxone (Narcan®). Either through grants or government purchases, police, fire and EMS, have been training in its use. Now a recent push has been made for libraries, airports, train stations, etc. to store Naloxone (Narcan®) for opioid overdose emergencies. RescueShotCase has been contacted by a number of “public” place venues to supply Naloxone opioid overdose cases to be available for emergency use. Airports, as well as train stations and transit police, are a good example of places that are moving toward storing and training employees in the correct administration of Naloxone (Narcan®). Opioid overdoses can happen anywhere and the more available the drug is the better chance of survival for a opioid overdose.
