Surgeon General and Naloxone
Recently the Surgeon General has released an advisory on Naloxone (Narcan®). Anyone who may come in contact with an opioid, or anyone who may use them; should be trained in Naloxone administration, as well as have it within reach to help save lives. Many state’s Department of Health have issued standing prescriptions with pharmacies that basically allow anyone who may want to access Naloxone, pick it up without a prescription. With this advisory from the Surgeon General the demand for Naloxone (Narcan®) should accelerate.
